- Download the protected ZIP, and share the password a different way (not in the same email).

Good to know
- Write the password down: nobody, including this site, can open the files without it.
- File names inside a ZIP stay visible without the password; only the contents are encrypted. If the names themselves are private, give the files neutral names first.
- A ZIP you drop here is opened, and its files go into a new, protected ZIP. A ZIP that already has a password must be unlocked first.
- The built-in tools of Windows and macOS may not open AES ZIPs; the free 7-Zip (Windows) and Keka or The Unarchiver (Mac) do.
- Use a long password: 12 characters or more, or a few unrelated words.

Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The ZIP is encrypted on your device; neither the files nor the password leave your browser.
How do I remove the password later?
Use Unlock ZIP: type the password once and get the same files in a ZIP without one.
