How to write a number in words

- Choose plain number or money, the currency and thousand/million or lakh/crore.

International and Indian numbering

Writing a cheque
Banks expect the amount in words to match the figures. Cents or paise are rounded to two places, and many people end the line with "only" so nothing can be added after it.
