How to open an archive

  1. Choose a ZIP, RAR, 7z or TAR.GZ file.
  2. See the list of files inside, with their sizes; find one by name.
  3. Download single files, or save them all (to a folder, keeping the folders inside).

Formats

  • ZIP (also Word, Excel, EPUB and other files that are ZIPs inside), read directly, even when very large.
  • RAR (RAR 4 and RAR 5), 7z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TGZ, GZ, BZ2 and XZ, opened with libarchive.
  • Password-protected ZIP files (classic and AES encryption) open when you type the password. Password-protected RAR and 7z files can't be unpacked here.

Good to know

  • Only the files you save are unpacked.
  • RAR, 7z and TAR archives are read into memory, so very large ones (several GB) can be slow on phones.
  • "Save all to a folder" works in Chrome and Edge; other browsers download the files one by one.
