How to make ASCII art
- Choose text or a picture.
- Type the text and pick a font, or choose the picture and its width.
- Copy the result or download it as a .txt file.
Text banners
- Twelve fonts from the original FIGlet collection: Standard, Big, Slant, Small, Shadow, Banner, Block, Lean, Script, Mini, Digital and Bubble.
- "Show every font" draws your text in all of them to compare.
- Long text wraps at the width you set, so it fits a terminal or a code comment.
Pictures
- Each character stands for the brightness of a small area of the picture. Choose how many characters wide, and the set of characters: classic, detailed (70), blocks or just two.
- Turn on Invert when the text will be shown light on a dark background, such as a terminal.
- View ASCII art in a monospace font (such as Consolas or Courier), or the shapes won't line up.
Maswali yanayoulizwa mara kwa mara
Can I use the art in my project?
Yes. What you make is yours. The fonts come from the FIGlet collection under its free license, which is on the Open-source licenses page.
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The picture is read and turned into text in your browser, and never sent anywhere.
