Three ways to use the parts

• Keep them: the parts are joined into one video, in the order of the list. Use the arrows to change the order, for example to make a highlights reel.
• Remove them: the parts are cut out and everything else is kept, for example ads, silences or mistakes.
• Save each separately: one file per part, all together in a ZIP.

Fast or exact

• Fast copies the video without re-encoding: no quality loss, and done in seconds. A video can only start playing at a key frame, so each part begins at the key frame just before its start time, up to a few seconds early. The page tells you how much before you start.
• Exact cuts at the times you set, to the frame, with a few milliseconds of fade at each join so it doesn't click. It re-encodes, which takes longer and changes the file slightly.

Marking parts

• Keyboard: I starts a part at the current position, O ends it.
• Click or drag on the timeline to move through the video; the arrow keys move 1 second (Shift: 10 seconds).
• Each part has a Play button to check it, and its start and end can be typed or set to the current position.
• If you end a part without starting one, it starts where the previous part ended (or at the beginning).

Good to know

• Opens MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. The result keeps the same format.
• The sound is cut together with the picture, so they stay in sync.
• For one simple cut at the start and end, the Video Trimmer is quicker.
• Exact cuts use your browser's built-in video technology: best in current Chrome and Edge, and recent Safari and Firefox versions.

Your video stays on your device

Everything happens in your browser. Your video is never uploaded, and this site's security policy blocks the page from sending files anywhere.
