How to convert between number bases
- Type the number and choose the base it is written in.
- Read it in binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal (and one more base of your choice).
- Copy the results.
Good to know
- Numbers of any length are converted exactly; they are not rounded like in most calculators.
- Prefixes such as 0x (hex), 0b (binary) and 0o (octal) are understood, and spaces or underscores are ignored.
- Two's complement shows how a negative number is stored in 8, 16, 32 and 64 bits.
- Bases above 10 use letters after 9: a = 10, b = 11, up to z = 35.
Câu hỏi thường gặp
Why does −1 show as 11111111?
Computers store negative numbers in two's complement: −1 in 8 bits is all ones (255 if read as unsigned).
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. The calculation happens in your browser as you type; nothing is sent anywhere.
