How to fix one-sided audio
- Choose an audio or video file.
- Pick what to do: mix to mono, use the left or right side in both ears, or swap them.
- Download the fixed file; a video keeps its picture as it is.
Which option to pick
| Problem | Choose |
|---|---|
| Sound only in the left ear (a lavalier or camera mic on one channel) | Left in both ears |
| Sound only in the right ear | Right in both ears |
| Left and right are the wrong way round | Swap left and right |
| You want one channel for speech, a phone or a smart speaker | Mix to mono (and "Save as a mono file" for audio) |
Good to know
- Mixing averages the two sides, so each is half as loud and the two together never distort. If the sound is only on one side, picking that side keeps it at full volume.
- Surround sound (5.1) can be mixed down too: all channels are averaged.
- The sound is re-encoded at high quality; the picture of a video is copied without any change.

Mga madalas itanong
Does mono make the file smaller?
Saved as a mono file (one channel), an uncompressed WAV is half the size; MP3 and other compressed files get a little smaller.
Is my file uploaded?
