How to decode a URL
- Paste the encoded URL or text.
- Turn on + as space if it comes from a form or query string.
- Copy the decoded result.
Good to know
- Characters are decoded as UTF-8, the encoding used by the web.
- Invalid sequences, such as a % that is not followed by two hexadecimal digits, are reported instead of being silently changed.
- Use the result as new input to decode text that was encoded twice.

Why does decoding fail?
The text contains a % sign that is not part of a valid encoded character, or an incomplete UTF-8 sequence. Check that the text was copied completely.
