How to extract frames from a GIF
- Choose an animated GIF.
- Look through the frames and their timing. Pick PNG or JPG, and every frame or every 2nd, 5th or 10th.
- Save single frames, or download them all as a ZIP.
Good to know
- Frames are saved as they appear on screen: GIFs often store only the changed part of each frame, and the full picture is rebuilt here, exactly like a browser does.
- PNG keeps the exact colors and transparency. JPG is smaller and gets a white background.
- The details show the number of frames, the size, the length of one loop and how often it repeats.
- Only GIF files are supported (not animated WebP or PNG).
