How to convert CSV to Excel

What you get

  • Numbers as numbers and ISO dates (2024-05-01) as dates, so you can calculate and sort.
  • Numbers with a leading zero (ZIP codes, phone numbers) and very long numbers stay text, so nothing changes.
  • A bold, frozen header row with filter buttons, and columns sized to fit.
  • Several CSV files as sheets of one workbook, or one Excel file each.

Good to know

  • The separator (comma, semicolon, tab or pipe) is detected automatically.
  • UTF-8 and older Windows text files are both read correctly.
