How to resize an image
- Choose one or more images.
- Pick a percentage, or switch to Pixels and enter a size or choose a common size such as an Instagram post or YouTube thumbnail.
- Choose how to handle a different shape: fit inside, fill and crop, or stretch.
- Press Resize and download the results.
Resizing options
- Percentage: 25%, 50%, 75% or any custom value.
- Pixels: enter a width, a height or both. With only one, the other is calculated from the image's shape.
- Common sizes for Instagram, Stories and Reels, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, screens and 300 DPI prints.
- Fit inside keeps the whole image. Fill and crop gives the exact size and trims the edges, as social media sizes need. Stretch gives the exact size by distorting the image.
- Smaller images aren't enlarged when fitting inside, unless you allow it under Advanced Options.
- Large reductions are done in steps for a sharper result.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Your images are resized by your own browser and never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without stretching it?
Enter only a width (or only a height), or choose "Fit inside" or "Fill the exact size". Only "Stretch" changes the image's shape.
How do I make an image exactly 1080 × 1080 for Instagram?
Choose "Instagram post, square" under Common sizes. The image fills the square and the edges that don't fit are trimmed equally on both sides. Use the Image Cropper if you want to choose which part to keep.
Can I resize several images at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, choose the size once, and they are all resized. You can download them individually or as a ZIP.
Which format is the resized image saved in?
By default the same format as the original when the browser can create it (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF). You can choose JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF under Advanced Options.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
