How to open a PowerPoint file without PowerPoint
- Choose the .pptx, .ppt or .odp file.
- Scroll through the slides; open "Speaker notes" under a slide to read them.
- Hidden slides are shown and marked.
Good to know
- Slides are drawn from their text boxes, pictures and tables at their positions. Charts, SmartArt, shapes' outlines, animations and transitions are not drawn, and the site's font replaces the presentation's fonts.
- Old .ppt files (PowerPoint 97–2003) show each slide's text and the presentation's pictures.
- Macros in .pptm files are never run.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my slide look different from PowerPoint?
Only text, pictures and tables are drawn, in the site's font. Designs built from shapes, charts or SmartArt appear as labelled boxes.
Is the presentation uploaded?
No. It is read in your browser and never sent anywhere.
