How to compare two texts
- Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right, or open two files.
- Choose to compare by lines, words or characters.
- Read the highlighted differences: green was added, red was removed.
Options
- By lines, with the changed words inside each line highlighted.
- By words or characters, for small edits in prose.
- Ignore upper/lower case and extra spaces.
- Long unchanged parts are folded, so you see only what matters.

Frequently asked questions
Can I compare Word or PDF files?
Copy their text in first (for PDFs, PDF to Text helps). Formatting is not compared, only text.
Is there a size limit?
Large texts work, but texts that are completely different are not compared in detail.
