How to blur part of a video

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Drag over each area to hide on the frame preview, and choose pixelate, blur or black box.
  3. Press the button and download.

What it suits

The areas stay in the same place, so this works for things that don't move much: a face in an interview, a parked car's plate, a screen, a document or a name tag. It doesn't follow moving faces. For a moving object, blur a larger area, or use several times with different time ranges.

Good to know

  • A black box is the safest way to hide text such as names and numbers.
  • The blurred areas are drawn into every frame of the new video; the original can't be recovered from it.
  • It uses your browser's built-in video technology: best in current Chrome and Edge, and recent Safari and Firefox versions.

Your video stays on your device
