How to blur part of a video
- Choose your video.
- Drag over each area to hide on the frame preview, and choose pixelate, blur or black box.
- Press the button and download.
What it suits
The areas stay in the same place, so this works for things that don't move much: a face in an interview, a parked car's plate, a screen, a document or a name tag. It doesn't follow moving faces. For a moving object, blur a larger area, or use several times with different time ranges.
Good to know
- A black box is the safest way to hide text such as names and numbers.
- The blurred areas are drawn into every frame of the new video; the original can't be recovered from it.
- It uses your browser's built-in video technology: best in current Chrome and Edge, and recent Safari and Firefox versions.
