How to change a background color

  1. Add one or many images.
  2. Choose what to do and the new color; the preview shows your first image.
  3. Press Change background and download the images.

Three ways

  • Fill see-through areas: a transparent PNG gets a solid background, for places that don't support transparency.
  • Replace a plain background: a white or colored background becomes another color.
  • Make a plain background see-through: the result is saved as PNG (or WebP/AVIF) with transparency.

How it decides what is background

Starting from the edges of the picture, it spreads through pixels close to the background color (found from the corners, or the color you pick). The same color inside the subject, such as white eyes or a white logo inside a dark shape, is left alone. The soft edge setting blends anti-aliased outlines smoothly.

This is for plain backgrounds. It can't cut a person or an object out of a busy photo; that needs AI background removal, which this site doesn't offer.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there light edges around my logo?

Raise "How close a color counts" a little, or the soft edge. Very small or blurry images keep a faint outline.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and the page is blocked from uploading anything.
