How to preview your search snippet

- Switch between the desktop and mobile preview, and add your focus keyword if you have one.
- Fix anything marked as too long, then copy the meta tags.
Measured in pixels, like search engines do
Search engines cut titles and descriptions by their width on screen, not by the number of characters: "WWW" takes far more room than "iii". This tool measures the text in the same font search results use and cuts it the way they typically do, at about 600 pixels for titles and about 920 pixels (desktop) or 680 pixels (mobile) for descriptions.
Good to know
- The limits are typical values: search engines change their layouts and sometimes rewrite titles and descriptions.
- Put the most important words first, so they show even if the end is cut.
- Every page should have its own title and description.
