How to resize a video for social media

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Choose the shape and resolution, and whether to show the whole video (with a background) or fill the frame.
  3. Press Resize video and download.

Shapes

  • 9:16 (1080 × 1920): TikTok, Instagram Reels and Stories, YouTube Shorts.
  • 1:1 (1080 × 1080) and 4:5 (1080 × 1350): Instagram and Facebook posts.
  • 16:9 (1920 × 1080): YouTube and presentations. 2:3 for Pinterest.

Good to know

  • "Show the whole video" puts it on a blurred copy of itself (or a color), so nothing is cut off.
  • "Fill the frame" crops the edges; for a precise crop, use the Video Cropper.
  • It uses your browser's built-in video technology: best in current Chrome and Edge, and recent Safari and Firefox versions.
