Checks slide titles, alternative text, table header rows, small text, empty slides and link text. Colour contrast and reading order are not checked. The file is only read: nothing in it is changed.
Results
Not checked: colour contrast, reading order, text inside pictures and captions in videos. PowerPoint's own checker (Review › Check Accessibility) covers reading order; check contrast and pictures of text by eye.

How to check a PowerPoint for accessibility
- Choose the presentation.
- Read the errors, warnings and tips, slide by slide.
- Fix them in PowerPoint and check again; download the results if you need a record.
What is checked
- Every slide has a title, and titles are not empty or repeated.
- Pictures, charts, SmartArt, embedded objects and videos have alternative text, unless they are marked as decorative.
- Tables have a header row.
- Text set smaller than 18 pt (only sizes set on the text itself, not sizes that come from the layout).
- Slides with no text or pictures, link text that doesn't describe its destination, and a missing document title.
What isn't checked
- Colour contrast, because it needs the slides drawn exactly as PowerPoint draws them.
- Reading order: PowerPoint's own checker (Review › Check Accessibility) and the Selection Pane help with that.
- Text inside pictures and captions in videos.
- Whether alternative text is actually good: it should say what the picture shows or means.

Frequently asked questions
Does passing this check make my presentation accessible?
No automatic check can promise that. It finds common, clear-cut problems; a person still needs to check contrast, reading order and whether the alt text is helpful.
Can I use an old .ppt file?
No. The old PowerPoint 97–2003 format (.ppt) is a different kind of file. Open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or LibreOffice Impress, save it as .pptx, then use that file. To just look at a .ppt, use the PowerPoint Viewer.
Is my presentation uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device.
