Tips for clean reports
- Use lower case everywhere: analytics counts "Email" and "email" as two different sources.
- Use the standard mediums (email, cpc, social, display, referral, affiliate) so GA4 puts the visits in the right channel group.
- Don't add UTM tags to links inside your own website: they start a new session and hide where visitors really came from.
- Existing parameters and #anchors in your URL are kept.
Frequently asked questions
Does this shorten the link?
No. Shortening needs an online service, which would see your links. Use your own short-link service if you need one.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and the page is blocked from uploading anything.
